INCOSE Denmark\n\n\n\n \nNovo Nordisk Systems Engineering Handbook by Per
Vikkelsøe from Novo Nordisk A/S.In 2023\, Novo Nordisk conducted a project
to improve the systems engineering capabilities for medical devices. This
has resulted in the Novo Nordisk Systems Engineering Handbook which is ba
sed on ISO 15288. Per will present the handbook and the work behind it.\n
\nPer is an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP). He i
s Principal Systems Engineer and Process Manager for systems engineering i
n Devices &amp\; Delivery Solutions at Novo Nordisk.\n\n \nThe use of the
RFLP framework as collaboration platform to facilitate product maintenance
in a highly regulated industry by Rajat Mehta and Anna Bellini from Radio
meter A/SIn the Medical Device industry\, every design change implemented
in a certified product must be carefully assessed\, well documented and cl
early communicated to the competent authorities. In the case of complex sy
stems this requires that engineers from different disciplines get together
to technically identify the impact of the change and consequently agree o
n verification and validation activities to be performed\; the outcome of
this work is then communicated to quality assurance and regulatory assuran
ce personnel who consequently inform the competent authorities.   Given th
e involvement of such diverse competences\, from very technical on one sid
e to more legal on the other\, it is often observed that the process is af
fected by large incomprehension causing delays and rework. With the applic
ation of the RFLP framework Radiometer has established a collaboration pla
tform to standardize communication\, visualize product impact\, align the
organization hence facilitate product maintenance.\n\nRajat Mehta is the H
ead of the Product Systems group at Radiometer Medical. He is dedicated to
refining systems engineering practices\, fostering innovation\, and drivi
ng development initiatives across the organization.\nAnna Bellini works in
R&amp\;D at Radiometer\, where she has driven a transformation project to
implement Systems Architecture artifacts with the purpose of improving R&
amp\;D efficiency in managing product complexity.\n\n \nINCOSE Working Gr
oups by Shailesh Patil from Ørsted A/S.INCOSE working groups are a great p
lace to meet individuals who are looking to overcome similar challenges. T
oday we have close to 50 working groups and all these INCOSE Working Group
s create products\, present panels\, develop and review standards\, and fo
rge industry partnerships.\n\nShailesh is an INCOSE Certified Systems Engi
neering Professional (CSEP). He is also inducted as an INCOSE TLI member t
hrough INCOSE IS2020. He is currently Senior Lead specialist in systems en
gineering at Ørsted for windpower\, driving the implementation of Systems
engineering concept and tool chain organization-wide.\n\n \nRe-visioning O
ur Digital Future by David Long. While model-based systems engineering (MBS
 E) is new and fresh for many\, our journey to model-based is over 20 years
old. Much has happened over the last two decades advancing technologies a
nd changing context. As we look to the future\, what foundations can we bu
ild upon and what direction should we move to maximize the progress and va
lue of SE’s digital transformation?\n\nDavid has spent over 30 years helpi
ng organizations around the world increase their systems engineering profi
ciency\, particularly in the areas of model-based systems engineering and
digital engineering. David founded and led Vitech where he developed innov
ative\, industry-leading methods and software to help organizations engine
er next-generation systems. An INCOSE Fellow and Expert Systems Engineerin
g Professional\, David was the 2014/2015 president of INCOSE and currently
serves as INCOSE’s Director for Strategic Integration.\n\n \nThe event is
open for all\, free of charge but only members of INCOSE Denmark are able
to vote on the General Meeting. Be sure to renew your membership if you a
re due to renew to ensure your vote will count. \nIn addition to our in-pe
rson gathering\, we're excited to offer a virtual meeting for those unable

treatment plant” is the title for this new ambitious and innovative projec
t in Aarhus\, where wastewater shall be treated and transformed into diffe
rent kinds of new resources. The project is in its initial planning phase w
ith Aarhus Vand A/S as the project owner.\nAarhus Vand decided in the earl
y phase to introduce systems thinking to create a common language across a
ll engineering disciplines and different stakeholders. For this purpose\,
the ISO/IEC 81346 standard series was applied to establish the basis for t
he system architecture.\nNext step was to use this base system architectur
e to analyze the interfaces among all main systems for the sake of getting
the overview and to use this as one of the division criteria to split the
different technology packages in the most optimal way.\nAarhus Vand will
present their work so far\, including the decision in relation to implemen
ting systems engineering ways of working which had to be made at the execu
tive level. The benefits and results from using systems engineering so far
will also be presented by the project manager.\nYou can read the formal i

August 2024 Makeen Energy A/S has started to implement fundamental system
s engineering disciplines such as system architecture\, requirement manage
ment\, system integration\, system ownership and stakeholder management.\n

81346 standard by Systems Engineering A/S (with permission from Novo Nordi
sk A/S) As a part of creating system architecture\, the ISO/IEC 81346 stan
dard series have proven to be a useful technique to create an unambiguous
reference anchor for knowledge: That is explicit knowledge in the form of
documentation and implicit knowledge in the head of people. Among others\,
overview and reference are useful results of using this technique.Within
any system architecture we prefer to create a reference model which is a m
odel with different views and a built-in mechanism which allows other mode
ls to refer to it. The 81346 reference model models systems and system ele
ments on a straightforward way in system breakdowns which does not require
special modelling knowledge at all.In this presentation we will focus on
how the creation of a reference model with ISO/IEC 81346 was used to captu
re\, validate and share knowledge to spotlight missing elements and evalua
te risks in a R&amp\;D projectThe ISO/IEC 81346 standard is constantly dev
eloping in these years\, and you can follow the latest news on this dedica
ted homepage www.81346.com and watch a range of basic videos on this YouTu

\n \nSystems Engineering at Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering
 \, DTU\nJosef Oehmen\, Ph.D.\, MBA\, is an Associate Professor at the Tech
nical University of Denmark (DTU). His research focuses on designing and m
anaging large-scale (systems) engineering programs\, especially on how to
deal with risk\, uncertainty and ignorance. He is the founder and coordina
tor of the Engineering Systems RiskLab at DTU (http://risklab.dtu.dk). Pri
or to DTU\, Josef worked at MIT and ETH Zurich (where he also obtained his
PhD).\nHe has won numerous awards and scholarships\, including regular ke
ynote speaker invitations\, teaching awards\, the Shingo Prize for his wor
k on Lean Engineering Program Management (2013)\, an appointment as Visiti
ng Professor at the Technical University of Munich (2012)\, DAU Research C
ompetition Winner (2012)\, INCOSE collaboration award (2012)\, a journal p
aper of the year award (2011)\, and the research award of the Department f
or Management\, Technology and Economics at the ETH Zurich in 2009.\nHe co
-founded DTU's Engineering Systems Group as well as MIT’s Consortium on En
gineering Program Excellence (CEPE)\, co-chairs the INCOSE Lean Systems En
gineering Working Group\, and founded and co-chairs the Design Society’s S
pecial Interest Group on Risk Management Processes and Methods. He is a me
mber of the board of IDA Risk.\nJosef's current research focuses on develo
ping and implementing paradigm-shifting risk management techniques in the
design\, construction and operation of Engineering Systems. He brings a de
sign and risk management perspective to improving how we collaborate in pr
oject management and systems engineering. He works on advanced (non probab
ilistic and ML-based) risk quantification methods\, principles of resilien
t engineering and project execution\, lean risk management\, and risk-info
rmed leadership in engineering organizations.\nEven more about Josef: http
://www.josef-oehmen.com\n \nReWater project by Aarhus Vand (AAV) \nAarhus
Vand (AAV) is in the planning mode for the new wastewater treatment plant\
, called the ReWater project. AAV presents their project with these words:
“The world’s most resource‑efficient wastewater treatment plant will be l
ocated in Aarhus. Close to the city\, the sea\, and everyday life\, the ne
w facility – Aarhus ReWater – will receive our wastewater\, ensure good wa
ter quality in streams\, lakes\, and the bay\, and convert the wastewater
into new materials\, new products\, and new energy.”. So\, besides cleanin
g wastewater\, energy production along with ambitions of co-production is
one of many requirements to address. The total cost is estimated to be 7.5
 00.000.000 DKK (2025 price).\nIn 2025\, AAV realized that the complexity\,
risk\, dependencies\, number of stakeholders etc. in the project requeste
d a far more effective and systematic approach and decided to go with the
basic principles from systems engineering. To accelerate the implementatio
n\, and get started right away\, AAV chose the Systems Engineering Concept
® from Systems Engineering A/S to apply systems engineering in the ReWater
project. With this\, the basic system architecture\, identification of fi
rst system interfaces\, identification of base requirements and involving
stakeholders has started. The results have been positive so far\, and the
SE methods along with the daily use is expected to increase the design qua
lity and collaboration among all parties as the project in moving on.\nFor
this INCOSE AGM\, AAV has been asked to present their results so far but
due to the heavy burden on the project management\, Henrik Balslev from Sy
stems Engineering A/S will present on behalf of AAV. The presentation will
focus on the results achieved so far with the system architecture\, requi
rement management (from scratch)\, stakeholder management\, and system int
 egration.\n \n  http://incose.dk/events/previous-events/event/57-annual-ge
